You're looking at it, one of my dreams come true! For so long I've been wanting to visit Tybee Island, the laid-back little island just 20 minutes from Savannah. It really was all I'd hoped for and more! The beach was fantastic, the weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and let me tell you, the turquoise was abundant!

I've blogged about these adorable little cottages over and over on my blog, and raved about the magic of designer and preservationist Jane Coslick many times. So when I say the absolute highlight our time on the island was spending an entire afternoon with Jane–including a personal tour of the island, visiting the interiors of some of her favorite projects (including her own home!) and dining with her in one of her favorite restaurants?! (AJ's Dockside Restaurant, with the best seafood and sunset views around!) Talk about Cloud 9, my friends! Her passion for saving the Island's historic cottages is undeniable and her energy and enthusiasm contagious. She was seriously just the nicest person ever!! I wish you could have all been with me! So once again, I'm going to point you over to her blog for more from her!

Later this week I'm going to be sharing the delightful cottage we stayed in...it was straight out of my dreams–and it happens to be one of Jane's favorite renovation projects! Actually many of Jane's projects are available for rent through Mermaid Cottages! You can even rent Mary Kay Andrews' and Paula Deen's own vacation homes from them too! Ahh, I love Tybee!
