Happy Halloween!

Aside from a couple mums, we never got around to decorating our front door this fall (a new baby will do that!), but I've been loving what I've been seeing around the blogosphere and Pinterest....especially this front porch from <a href="http://www.thewoodgraincottage.com/2013/10/14/fall-front-porch/" target="_blank">The Wood Grain Cottage</a>! Shayna went all out with her decorating, which was inspired by the great outdoors and cozy fall elements. I have to admit though, it was her door painted <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/wytheblue" target="_blank">Wythe Blue</a> by Benjamin Moore that first got my attention! Love it with the orange! You guys have to see inside Shayna's home, it's beautiful. San Francisco Bay Area interior designer <a href="http://www.kristemichelini.com/" target="_blank">Kriste Michelini</a> created this cozy, light-filled "writer's retreat" on the third floor of the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, photographed here by David Duncan Livingston and Roberto Tiscareno. I can't think of a more perfect place to hide out to write or settle in with a good book! The turquoise chaise is absolutely fabulous! Karen and Guy Vidal of <a href="http://www.designvidal.com/los-feliz-interior-designers/" target="_blank">Design Vidal</a> out of Los Angeles believe to save, renovate and restore - rather than buy new - is to protect our environment. That's exactly what they did in this 1913 Craftsman kitchen when they transformed a small, ill-planned space into one that embraces both historic detailing and modern efficiency. I love how the kitchen looks like it's been there forever, but a peek at the <a href="http://www.designvidal.com/project/elevado-street-before-afters/" target="_blank">before photos</a> and you can see that's so not the case (it takes a bit for the images to load, but it's worth it)! So fresh and fun, perfect for the family's teenage daughter! The colors just pop right out on that white background, don't they? I am especially loving the desk area with all its accessories and the cute window seat! (And pool view!)
