(She was, after all, the mastermind behind <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2009/01/little-piece-of-green-and-blue-heaven.html" target="_blank">this marvelous bedroom</a>.) Her portfolio is full of bold, colorful design, but also these dreamy seaside escapes too. That kitchen!!!<span style="font-style: italic;"> Oh my word. </span>Excuse me while I stare off into these images....it's snowing here....again. Ugh!!!

Dunes and Duchess

They're always so fun, filled with inspiration. This particular library designed by Patricia LaPierre of Greenwich Design Architects was in the Shippan Designer Showhouse. The space was styled by <a href="http://stacystyle.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Stacy Kunstel</a> and photographed by <a href="http://www.michaelpartenio.com/" target="_blank">Michael Partenio</a>. The talented duo actually started their own company last fall called <a href="http://dunesandduchess.com/" target="_blank">Dunes and Duchess</a>. They create the most amazing, giant candelabras and lamps in the coolest colors. (You can see more <a href="http://dunesandduchess.com/?page_id=54" target="_blank">here</a>...love all those photos!) Incredible Wooden Bathtub

I didn't even know they existed! Inspired by the comfort of an antique armchair and the sweeping sheer of a sailboat, <a href="http://bath-in-wood.com/index.html" target="_blank">Bath in Wood of Maine</a> has been crafting wooden bathtubs for three years. This particular double bathtub featured in <a href="http://digital.designnewengland.com/designnewengland/20100506/#pg46" target="_blank">Design New England</a> is made from a deep-sealed Honduran mahogany. Imagine how long the water would stay warm in that! (And what fun kids would have pretending it was a boat!) Oh, and the bead-board wainscoting is painted <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/for-your-home/color-gallery?cd=2139-50&col=CP">Benjamin Moore's <span style="font-style: italic;">Silver Marlin</span></a>. She recently revealed the transformation of her ten year-old daughter's room, who requested her space have aqua in it. Judy chose <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/whisperingspring">Benjamin Moore <span style="font-style: italic;">Whispering Spring</span></a> for three of the walls, and stenciled the pink wall all by herself! Amazing! In fact, so much of what you see Judy made by herself, in addition to a few great finds from Home Goods, Target or PB Kids. Design Bloggers Conference

I first saw it on <a href="http://norskeinteriorblogger.blogspot.com/2011/01/finale-barnerom.html" target="_blank">Norske Interiørblogger</a>, but you can check out more of the space on the Norwegian blog <a href="http://lykke-bo.blogspot.com/2011/01/utfordring-barnerom.html" target="_blank">Lykke Bo</a>. A side note: I studied Norwegian two years in college, part of that full-time in Oslo. My norsk today?? Ikke så bra. It's a good thing lovely rooms and beautiful photography speak a universal language!<br /><br />So have you guys all heard about the upcoming <a href="http://design-bloggers-conference.com/" target="_blank">Design Bloggers Conference</a>?? It's a two-day conference out in LA at the end of February. So many of our favorite design bloggers are speaking, and even more attending. The challenge interior designer <a href="http://www.lwcinteriors.com/" target="_blank">Honey Collins</a> faced in decorating this classic New England home was respecting the inherent formality while making it feel warm, exciting and fresh. I love the mix of patterns everywhere, and the perfect combination of subtle and bold color. The "landing room" is brilliant, I'd love to have a space just like it. The design genius behind it and the rooms above is <a href="http://hillarythomasdesigns.com/" target="_blank">Hillary Thomas</a>. "Go BOLD...not beige!" was her New Year's Resolution this year and I'm thinking she'll have no problem keeping that one. First and foremost, I love that she loves (like I love) pink and turquoise. Her rooms all feel so alive and vibrant, filled with layers, fabulous color and pattern. How fantastic are those blown-up photographs?? (Somehow I doubt photos of my cats would look that cool!) Turquoise and Cream Kitchen

This delightful kitchen in an early-19th century home located in Berkshire, England was featured in <a href="http://www.25beautifulhomes.com/" target="_blank">25 Beautiful Homes</a>. The combination of aqua (<span style="font-style: italic;">Aqua Blue</span> by Neptune) and cream (<span style="font-style: italic;">Calico</span> by Neptune) is so fresh here, very pretty with all the rustic wood. The reclaimed pine flooring is so beautiful, and I just love all the light pouring in from the french doors!

Fabulous Dream Bathroom!

(And not just because our furnace is broken and won't go above 62 degrees and a warm bath would feel amazing right now...) I look at a lot of pretty rooms every day, but surprisingly not that many stir up envy. I have to admit that this one does...in a major way. I WANT this bathroom. I'm pretty sure I NEED this bathroom. (Although my dad will tell you I have a history of confusing those two terms...!) I cannot get enough of the <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/calypsoblue">Benjamin Moore <span style="font-style: italic;">Calypso Blue</span></a> on the walls here...it's a perfect companion to the white beadboard. Not sure I could live without a mirror above the sink, but the artwork is all very cool. The hand-painted <a href="http://www.luludk.com/detail?id=34&type=3">Lulu DK</a> fabric on the window shade and Moravian star light are great touches too, as is the cute starfish! The owner selected a yellow and green palette to reflect the summer light and fill the rooms with warmth, and used turquoise as the perfect accent. I loved her tip for decorating on a budget: You have to be patient. She has been collecting those cute turquoise striped Carrigaline dishes from Cork, Ireland for more than 10 years...and never pays more than $1 for each one. Dream Workspace

I had big dreams for the space...pretty AND efficient, an inspiring space full of color and life. That was 6 months ago. Right off the bat I got a fabulous new floor (thanks Dad!), pretty BM Waterfall walls (thanks Chris!)......and some leftover Ikea furniture from my apartment. No art, no curtains, no door even. So that's my resolution for the new year, fancy up my workspace.
